Playing the UkuleleHe’s Got The Whole World in His Hands

As we ask for help and your prayer we know a lot of you never met this sweet angel. I went through some of the photos and decided to share these because they capture her essence. She’s so beautiful in body but also in spirit and heart. Only one word really describes Sadie and that would be….love.

Sadie and Harper joined the church ukulele group and I captured this after she came home from the first class.

Love from a Grandmother

I look back at photos of our sweet Sadie and there were just no clues.  She was your typical blond haired blue eyed little princess and now 8 years later she’s in a fight for her life.

Sadie has been diagnosed with Carvajal Syndrome- which is a mutation of Naxos disease. It’s incredibly rare and difficult to manage.

The doctors implanted an Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator (ICD) and she is awaiting a heart donor at UF William A. Shands hospital in Gainesville, FL.

To say all of this is overwhelming is an understatement.  What provides us strength, comfort, and peace is our faith in God.  Amazing support and encouragement from incredible friends, family and even strangers.  Unconditional love and comfort from our church family and stability in the knowledge of the medical teams who have all surrounded Sadie with confidence.

Ladybugs

It seemed like ladybugs was always finding their way to Sadie and I was able to capture in this video. I googled ladybugs and this came up: “Protection & Divine Guidance: Historically linked to the Virgin Mary, they are seen as symbols of protection and, in some spiritual contexts, a sign of angelic protection or guidance.”

How appropriate because we sure need God right now

Climbing the Mountain

I remember taking Sadie and Harper the first time to Urban Air. Harper really wanted to climb the wall but was very nervous. Sadie’s turn came around. She put on the equipment. Walked right up to the wall without hesitation. Thought through each step with confidence, agility and grace. She didn’t hesitate or say a word. Just got to it and through it. Up she went and hit the bell like a seasoned champion.

As Sadie awaits her donor heart I stay in prayer that she is able to climb this mountain just like she did with the wall. I pray that Jesus will hold her hand and calm her spirit.

Just like she did at the wall I will be holding my breath and cheering her on with my whole heart.
